Hydrant for iPad and iPhone is the fast way for Fire and Utility Services to locate the nearest fire hydrant.

Using the built-in GPS and electronic compass on the iPhone or iPad 3G, Hydrant pin-points your location and heading. With fire hydrant data on file, automatically synchronized from the web or the accompanying cloud hosted database, Hydrant points rescuers to the nearest sufficiently yielding fire hydrant.

Hydrant data is supplied by the user. In addition to location, additional data such as hose coupling and water flow can be linked to each fire hydrant.

Fire hydrant users

Hydrant will be available for individuals on the Apple AppStore shortly. The recommended way of buying Hydrant in volume for business is by using redeem codes from the Apple AppStore and distributing them to your employees. Get in touch if you need help purchasing volume redeem codes for your employees.

Fire hydrant owners

You have several option for distributing your hydrant data.

• Load individual iPhone and iPad’s with hydrant data directly via file transfer from iTunes
• Share hydrant data by uploading it to your department web server
• Share hydrant data from a departmental web service
• Share your hydrant data from our cloud hosted database on the $99/mo. plan

Contact support for a description of the data format used by the app. If you have trouble converting your data to meet the app’s specifications contact support and we’ll give you a quote on assisting your on the conversion.

All hosted fire hydrant data is made public through a release form.

SimMon is featured along side a spread on Maj Siercke’s Hillerød Clinical Simulation Lab in the October issue of UCC Magazine.

The Clinical Simulation Lab in Hillerød was one of the first simulation labs to use SimMon and it’s great to see the lab (and app) get some good publicity.

Maj Siercke is an associate professor at the UCC School of Nursing and in addition to being an experienced nurse has a background as both a coach and certified facilitator. New alarms are delivered via Push Notifications and can be filtered by responding service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is 112puls a paid app? It costs money to send push notifications.

Why can’t I see alarms for my local fire department? CFB and Vestegnens Brandvæsen among others do not report to the ODIN database and therefore don’t show up.

Why did I see the engines leave the fire department without getting a notification? Only alarms that pass through 112 alarm dispatchers are registered. If the firebrigade is alerted through an automated fire detection system or requested directly by the police the alarm goes directly to the fire department and is therefore not registered in the ODIN database.

Where is there a description of the alarms? 112puls is based on the Danish Emergency Management Agencys ODIN database. You can dive in to all avaliable data there.
